Daisy studied Illustration at the University
of Brighton, graduating in 1999 with First Class Honours.
She went on to complete her MA in Communication Art and Design at
the Royal College of Art, graduating in 2002.
Whilst at the RCA, Daisy gained a distinction for her thesis ‘Sugar
and Spice and all things nice, is that what little girls are really
made of?’ She was also awarded first place for the Sheila
Robinson Memorial Prize, judged and awarded by her daughter, the illustrator,
Chloe Cheese.
Since then, Daisy has been working to establish herself as a freelance
illustrator. Clients include; Sony Music Associated Records
(Japan), Hey Ladies, Tiger Magazine, Dazed and Confused, Japanese
singer/songwriter Yo Hitoto, Graniph, Carlos Magazine and
This is a Magazine.
Daisy has also been involved in several exhibitions, both group and
solo, from London to LA. She has exhibited with ‘Two Steps
Back’, a group show celebrating drawing, which toured throughout
Europe, the US and Japan.
In 2005, Daisy worked with fellow Illustrator Jessica Pillings to
produce ‘Natural Beginnings’, shown at Farnham
Maltings, Surrey. The pair collaborate to produce murals and bespoke
artwork for interiors on canvas.
2006 saw Daisy feature in Illustration exhibition ‘New Voices’,
at The Menier Factory, London.
Since she has also been included in ‘The Picture Book’,
a book of Contemporary Illustrators, edited by Angus Hyland.
Daisy will be exhibiting at the Brighton Festival 2007, in collaboration
with James Taylor of Debut.
