We, cruel girls
'Secrecy is important; I know that to violate it would be the
greatest, irreparable sin. If I tell I will be cast out forever.'
‘Cat's Eye’ by Maraget Atwood
This series explores the theme of girlhood, where girls are
caught between the carefree innocence of childhood and the onset
of adolescence. It is a secretive, hierachical world in which
these girls compete for acceptance from one another.
Having a best friend in this constantly shifting arena, is vital.
As much as inclusion is desired, rejection and isolation are
feared.
